OPIS SERiALU: Witamy w alternatywnej rzeczywistości rodem z najgorszego koszmaru. Oto inna wersja historii świata, gdzie prawo stanowione jest przez mężczyzn i dla mężczyzn, a kobieta została sprowadzona do roli niemego reproduktora.

PLOT: The action takes place in the Republic of Gilead, where the military is in power. There are cruel orders and customs in the country. Only officers and their wives enjoy the respect. But, for no apparent reason, the wives of officers do not have children. To continue the officer line, officers and their wives choose among the ordinary girls the one who will bear their future child. Young girls, carriers of officer offspring, live in special guarded rooms, most resembling a prison and know that right after the birth they will have to part with their child.
